Today, the funeral of Ko Htun Htun, the Buddhist deceased was organized by ‘Golden Gong’ Buddhist monk. According to Kamayut Media, over 1500 mourners attended the funeral and Irrawady News Magazine Facebook page reported that some of them selectively burnt down sexton house, a goat farm and the common hall of Muslim Cemetery about 4:30 PM today among all religious cemeteries in Ayeyeik Nyein. They also tried to gut the Ayeyeik Nyein Mosque (aka Kyarni Kan Cemetery Mosque), but their attempt failed. The sextons escaped from fire.

It was reported that one Islamic school located in Ywarthar Block of the eastern part of Mandalay Palace was stoned by a mob, causing the window glasses of the school broken. Moreover, the mob also stoned nearby six houses. Nearly 300 hundreds rioters with motorbikes and cars took part in that mob violence. Irrawady Facebook page mentioned that more police force were deployed in the city because the rumor that people would mob again after Ko Htun Htun’s death was spread.

The curfew already imposed on 3rd July in six townships also extended to Pathein Gyi Township today. The first six townships were Aungmyae Tharzan, Chanaye Tharzan, Mahar Aung Myae, Chan Mya Tharsi, Pyigyi Tagon, and Amarapura.
