118 Chinese nationals who stay in the suburb of capital Yangon will be isolated for fourteen days to monitor whether they are infected COVID-19 or not – said local MP U Maung Muang Oo.
Two houses in Thigangyun township have been checked by authorities yesterday after local residents reported to police that many Chinese nationals are residing there. U Maung Maung Oo said all of the Chinese nationals – with passport – have entered the country legally via airlines.
But they only have permission to stay 36 people in two residences and the rest are living there without proper permission from immigration department. Most of them are from Yunnan Province near Myanmar border not from the Hubei – epic center of COVID-19.
Authorities have decided to put all of them under 14-day isolation in the residences to be sure they don’t have any infections of coronavirus. After that, government will take action them under immigration laws – said U Maung Maung Oo.
