On 30th November 2014, an opening ceremony of Dialysis center was held to mark the fourth anniversary of Myint Myat Phyu Sin Muslim charity clinic, at Pan Thay Mosque hall on 80th Street, between 35th and 36th street, Mandalay.
About 350 dignitaries attended the ceremony including Mandalay Muslim organizations’ leaders, Phyu Sin Myit Tar blood donation and social welfare organization Patron Sayadaw (Chief Buddhist Monk), donors, special guests, medical doctors and town’s elders.
First of all, the ceremony was commenced by reciting verses from Quran by Imam of Pan Thay mosque. Then, retired Police Colonel Haji U Hla Myint, Chairman of Myint Myat Phyu Sin Muslim Charity Clinic Management Committee, gave the opening speech. Afterwards, Renal Specialist Haji Dr. Khin Maung Kyaw explained the purpose of opening the dialysis center.
Management Committee secretary Haji U Soe Myit (Mandala Hosptial) said in his speech that three dialysis machines were set up in the clinic and the clinic has been giving free dialysis service for 6 underprivileged people a day. He emphasized that although the charity clinic was founded by Muslims it renders free medical services to all the needy people regardless of race or religion. According to him, about 500 million kyat has been spent every month for the free medical services. The charity clinic is mainly dependent on the donors and it spent about 1500 millions kyat for the new dialysis center. There have been about 247,000 clinical encounters in the clinic within 4 years period. He appreciated all the attendees of the ceremony and donors of the charity clinic in his speech. After the ceremony, all the attendees were treated with special Pan Thay dishes.
It is reported that about 200 outpatients are receiving treatment in Myit Myat Phyu Sin Muslim charity clinic everyday and the clinic is coordinating with Mandalay Public Hospital for the care of the patients whenever it is necessary.
