Maungdaw: : A resident of Du Chee Yar Tan said, around 8.30 PM some houses were set fire and by 10.30 PM five houses were burning and flame keep growing without any clue how many houses were kept burning so far. These 5 houses were burnt down not by fire spreading rather these were set ablaze one after another. People there are frighten by fire and Aung Myo Min, member of Rakhine State Parliament said he has already informed to Rakhine Minister and other related state authorities.At the time of this report, the township governor,regional constituency member of national parliament and area police chief present at the scene and taking necessary action, confirmed by U Shwe Maung, member of national parliament for Buthidawn constituency.
Du Chee Yar Tan is a village tract of seven small villages cosisting of 400 houses all together.East,center and west parts are affected so far.
UN issued statement on Thursday saying State authorities and Rakhines killed at least 40 Muslims residents from Du Chee Yar Tan in Maung Daw on 9th and 13th of January. AP and other international news agency reported the news of massacre in headlines.
