Seven men from Kang Paing Ward of Taung Gok ,Rakhine were sentenced to 7 years each in prison by Thandwe District Court.
7 men found guilty of charge,causing grievous hurt to other over brutal killing of 10 Muslims travellers in Taung Gok , Rakhine State on 3rd of June,2012 which had shocked the whole country.
The lawyer of seven men, Daw Nyein Nyein Nyunt said she will appeal to her court of the Rakhine State.
Seven men who are residents of Taung Gok were suspected and arrested over killing of 10 Muslims travellers on 17 of July 2013 after one year of the incident. They were initially charged with Section 302 of Penal code for murder and Section 34 of Penal code for organized criminal act. But the judge of Thandwe District court found that these 7 men are only guilty of causing grievous hurt and sentenced them according to Section 325 of penal code.
On 3rd of June 2012 while race and religious tension is in Rakhine State,10 Muslims travellers from Yangon and other parts of the country were dragged down from the Yoma ThitSa long distance bus and stubbed and brutally beaten to dead by mob of around 300 people along the highway, a few miles away from Taung Gok of Rakhine State..
